I started in staffing right out of school. I worked in the IT contract business and eventually transitioned into corporate where, for the next 13 years, I worked in corporate recruiting, managing all of the agency vendors, running the contract business from an HR point of contact perspective, and dealing directly with all of the hiring managers to help them fill positions. After spending more than a decade working at two different pharmaceutical companies, I decided to move back to the agency side, to specialize in Pharma contract staffing.
I was happy and had great success at a global, publicly traded staffing company, when I was approached about the opportunity at Beacon Hill. I was skeptical. There was no reason for me to leave and start all over again. Why would Beacon Hill be any different than where I was?
I was convinced to explore the company and had the opportunity to meet with Andy Wang, our CEO, and the leadership team. The experience was truly humbling. Everything I heard from people who had been at Beacon Hill since the beginning was inspiring. The fact that there had been no turnover for 10+ years by anyone in senior management - and the opportunity to be the Division Director within a newly formed division, managing my own P&L, making hiring decisions, organically growing a team from zero, and knowing that I had the full support of senior management - was extraordinary.
I accepted the position and today, several years later, I continue to be humbled and thankful for the opportunity. The opportunity to work with one of the hardest working managers, Ryan Pirnat, Managing Director and founder of the Pharma division, who cares so much about the team and has led by example from Day 1, is motivational. Not once have I looked back and regretted this decision.
I can’t imagine a better opportunity for someone who is experienced and wants to apply their skills within the very best environment. Although changing firms isn’t easy, for those who are willing to do the work, and have the grit that it takes to do the build, the rewards are plentiful at Beacon Hill.
I am so incredibly happy to be in a position to tell others about how I got here and why I love it. Beacon Hill truly embraces its philosophy and vision. The fairness and internal equity in compensation plans, the transparency of numbers, the uncapped opportunity to grow one’s own business, the structure and ownership of the P&L at the Division Director level; these are some of the many things that distinguish BH from our competitors. I love that we don’t have rigid budgets, but, rather, we are held accountable by our own P&L’s and our decisions are driven by return on our investment. We don’t have layers of non-producing management jobs like many of our competitors. Our leaders lead by example. Everyone at Beacon Hill is producing together one way or another.
