After briefly practicing law and interacting closely with the team at a national staffing firm, I was recruited by the firm’s manager to join her team. It was a total leap of faith into a business that a year earlier I did not know existed. I joined that company almost 20 years ago as a sales executive and was quickly promoted into a national sales manager role. I had found a job that I was truly passionate about and enjoyed getting to know people at every level and in every phase of their career. Every day I learned something new from a client, candidate or co-worker.
In 2002, the Managing Director for the legal staffing group of a Fortune 500 staffing company recruited me to join their team managing the Philadelphia Legal office and the company’s largest legal staffing account. Through building a talented team of professionals and actively participating in the Philadelphia Legal Community, we grew and diversified our client and candidate base throughout the Tri-State area becoming the Division’s top producing branch and the go-to legal staffing firm in Philadelphia.
In 2010, John Tarbox, Managing Director of Beacon Hill Legal, approached me about joining Beacon Hill. I was having success in a comfortable position with a team that I loved and respected, and a client/candidate base that knew us and trusted us with their work and careers, and I was not ready to make a move. However, from the first time I met with John and Andy Wang in person, I knew we would eventually work together. I had never met two people as passionate about our industry and the possibilities for growing a truly unique brand with some of the best in the industry.
John never gave up on me and we talked every few months. So, when the company I was working for went through significant management changes and restructuring that did not allow us to offer the same level of service in the legal staffing space, I reached out to John.
In 2012, we opened the Philadelphia Beacon Hill Legal office with just me in a small office with a computer and a phone. Today we have a team of 8 who have built a great reputation in the market as a successful business – and a staffing firm that goes above and beyond for each other, our candidates, and our clients. I could not be more proud.
